Keşke Support
Keşke is an iPhone budgeting app that tells you, in one friendly number, how much you can comfortably spend today. Akche, a cheerful little coin pouch, keeps you company. No account, no sign-up, no servers: everything lives on your iPhone.
Stuck somewhere? Let's take a look together.
Frequently asked questions
Where is my data?
On your iPhone, and only there: in the app's own storage and the space it shares with its widgets (an App Group). Keşke doesn't connect to the internet and never sends your data to us or anyone else. Your data only leaves the device when you back it up yourself.
Your iPhone's own device backups (iCloud or a computer) and Quick Start to a new iPhone include Keşke's data. If you'd rather they didn't, turn on Settings › Privacy › Exclude from device backups. Settings is the gear at the top right of every tab.
How do backups work?
- Automatic backups: Pick a folder during setup or in Settings › Backup and restore. We suggest a folder under Files › On My iPhone. On days you use the app, Keşke quietly writes at most one backup there, keeps the last 7 days and the last 4 weeks, and tidies up the rest.
- Encryption: Backups are encrypted by default. The key lives in your iPhone's Keychain, and on a new phone you open them with the recovery password you set (8 characters or more). If the password is lost, an encrypted backup can't be opened, so keep it somewhere safe.
- Folder choice: iCloud Drive folders aren't accepted. If you pick a folder from another file provider (Google Drive or Dropbox, say), the backup file lives with that provider.
- Manual backups: Back up now writes today's backup right away. Export as a file (encrypted) makes a
.keskefile and you decide where it goes. You can also export without encryption; anyone who opens that file can read it. - Delete the app and your backups stay in the folder you chose.
How do I restore a backup?
- On a fresh install, tap Restore from a backup on the welcome screen. If the app is already set up, go to Settings › Backup and restore › Restore from a backup.
- Pick the backup file (automatic backups are named
Keske-YYYY-MM-DD.keske). - If this iPhone doesn't have that backup's key, you'll be asked for the recovery password that was in use when the backup was made.
- Confirm. A restore replaces the data on this iPhone, and Keşke backs up your current data first, so nothing disappears quietly.
How does the Face ID lock work?
With Settings › Privacy › Lock with Face ID on, Keşke locks when it opens and when you come back to it. If Face ID doesn't work, your passcode does. In the app switcher the screen is always blurred, even with the lock off. Keşke never sees your face data; iOS only tells it "yes" or "no".
How do I hide amounts?
- In the app: tap the eye icon or turn on Settings › Privacy › Hide amounts in the app. Every amount shows as "••••", and Home Screen widgets follow along.
- On the Lock Screen: with Hide amounts on the Lock Screen on, Lock Screen widgets show a percentage or progress instead of amounts.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings › Careful › Erase all data. Keşke offers to make a backup first, asks you to confirm with Face ID or your passcode, and has you type "DELETE". Last, it asks whether to delete the backups in your folder too; the default is to keep them. Erasing can't be undone.
Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes its data on the device. Backup files in the folder you chose stay until you remove them, which you can do in the Files app.
How do I add widgets?
Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, choose Edit, add a widget and pick Keşke. The Home Screen gets today's number (small, medium and large) and the wishlist counter; the Lock Screen gets a budget ring, your streak and today's number. The buttons on the medium widget log a regular expense without opening the app. If a widget looks empty, open Keşke once and it fills in.

You don't need to share your data when you write. If you send a screenshot, you can hide amounts first.
