The short version: Keşke doesn't collect any of your data. What you enter is stored on your iPhone. There's no account, no server, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your data only leaves the device if you back it up, and then the encrypted backup file goes to a folder you choose. It never reaches us.
What we collect
Nothing. As the developer of Keşke ("we" from here on), we don't see, receive or store your spending, accounts, wishlist or anything else you put in the app. The app doesn't talk to a server and makes no network requests. There are no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking tools inside, and your advertising identifier is never read. You don't need an account to use it.
Where your data lives
- On your iPhone. Your entries are kept in the app's own storage and in the space it shares with Keşke's widgets (an App Group), protected by iOS file encryption.
- In your iPhone's own backups. Device backups to iCloud or a computer, and Quick Start to a new iPhone, include Keşke's data. Those backups are covered by Apple's terms. If you'd prefer to leave Keşke out, turn on Settings › Privacy › Exclude from device backups in the app.
Backup files
Backups are optional and entirely up to you. Automatic backups are written only to the folder you pick; we suggest one under Files › On My iPhone. iCloud Drive folders aren't accepted. When you make a manual backup (a .keske file), you decide where it's saved or who it's sent to.
Backups are encrypted by default. The key stays in your iPhone's Keychain and can also be unlocked with the recovery password you set. We don't know that password and can't reset it. If you choose to export without encryption, the file is readable by anyone who opens it.
If you pick a folder that belongs to a cloud provider (such as Google Drive or Dropbox), that provider's terms and privacy policy apply to the file. Your backup files are never sent to us.
Permissions and device features
- Face ID: Optional, and only used to lock the app. Keşke never sees your face data; iOS simply tells it whether you were recognized.
- Location: Optional, and only used to suggest categories for places you visit often. Exact coordinates aren't stored. Instead, a key for an area of roughly 150 meters is saved with the entry on your device, and it's part of your own backups. You can turn location access off any time in iPhone Settings.
- Photos: If you add a photo to a wish, only the image you choose in the system photo picker is used; Keşke doesn't ask for access to your library. The photo is resized and saved in the database on your device.
- Notifications: Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. There's no push server.
- Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts: They read and write the same data on your iPhone.
Information from Apple
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may share crash reports and aggregate usage statistics with us. That's covered by Apple's privacy policy and doesn't include the entries you make in Keşke. We haven't added any other diagnostics to the app.
If you contact us
If you email us for support, we'll see your message and your email address, and we use them only to reply. You don't need to include any of your Keşke data.
Deleting your data
In Keşke, Settings › Careful › Erase all data removes everything on the device; deleting the app does the same. Backup files in your chosen folder can be removed during that flow or by you in the Files app. Since we hold none of your data, there's nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Keşke is rated 4+. We don't collect data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a future version adds a feature that uses the internet (downloading public exchange rates, for example), we'll say so here before that version is released.
